Prof. René “CHAPO” Prince

René heads the Carlson Gracie Academy in Affoltern a.A. He started in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu back in early 2012 and he is one of the Felipe’s oldest students. He collected more than 30 years of experience in combat sports. After a decade of consistent training at Carlson Gracie, he earned his black belt in 2021. René gained relevant competition experience in World competitions. E.g. IBJJF World Masters Las Vegas, and London / Rome / Zürich Open Tournaments gold medalist.

Elizher “EZINHO” Oliveira de Assis

Ezinho has been training BJJ for more than 10 year. He started as a trainer with us in 2024 and he is teaching children as well as adult classes.

Luiz Ricardo Leite de Amorim

His Jiu-Jitsu journey began in 2004 in Desenzano del Garda, where he trained under World Champions Fabricio Nascimento and Eduardo Pessoa. Earning his blue belt with their guidance was a major milestone along the way. Later, he moved to Zurich, where he met Felipe, who deepened his understanding of the art and helped him achieve his purple and brown belts.

For Luiz Ricardo, Jiu-Jitsu has always been more than just training; it’s a passion and a way of life. In his words: “It’s an honor to pass on this art, and I look forward to growing and learning together with all of you.

Mario de Luigi

Mario is training with us since 2018 and has some competition experience. He is kids and beginners classes trainer.

Prof. Felipe Thiago “BROA”

Felipe received his black belt degree in 2010 under Prof. Gutenberg Melo, and he moved to Switzerland in 2021 when he opened the first Carlson Gracie Academy. He is the Head of Carlson Gracie Switzerland, and has the technical supervision. On a regular basis, he visits our place from time to time for special trainings, graduations and seminars. Felipe is a successful competitor. He won many titles in Brazil, and in global tournaments. E.g. South American Champion, European Champion, and Chicago / Munich / Rome Open gold medalist. In 2012 he moved to Switzerland where he opened the first Carlson Gracie Academy.
