Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

is more than just a martial art or sport…

It’s a Way of Life.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a martial art / combat sport focusing on grappling and ground fighting. The goal is to control and resist the opponent forcing him to submit. The submission generally happens by applying locks or chokes. It has been developed in Brasil by the Gracie family and originates from Kodokan Judo. In the recent years it became very popular with thousands of practitioners and competitors all around the world.

Here at the Carlson Gracie in Affoltern am Albis we welcome those of all ages from complete beginners to more advanced practitioners and competitors. It doesn’t matter where you are now in terms of fitness and expertise .. just come learn and let our team work with you to help you reach your own individual goals, whether they be just getting in great shape, learning to defend yourself, or compete in tournaments.

Modern dojo, well equipped and easy to reach.

You’ll find our modern Dojo in the center of Affoltern am Albis, between the cities of Zürich and Zug. It is easy to reach it by public transportation and, if you drive, there are public parkings (2 min walk).

We have equipped our facilities with 100 m2 of high quality Pro Series MMA mats from Zebra. These mats are specifically designed for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), “No-Gi” Grappling, MMA training, or Law Enforcement Training. The smooth, non-slip, vinyl surface eliminates mat burns and makes rolling more comfortable.

We want our members to feel positive, motivated and in the perfect mood for a BJJ training experience. That’s why our dojo is bright, with a minimalist feeling and a laid-back atmosphere. So when you come in, you feel as at you second home.

Of course you’ll also find all the practical things you need: toilets, changing rooms and shower, drinks and snacks.
